Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco, California

The iconic chocolatier Ghirardelli (now found nearly everywhere) occupied this space originally as a chocolate factory and it’s been a landmark since 1862. Fearing that it would be torn down, after a few changes of ownership, some San Franciscans bought the property and revitalized the property to feature shops, restaurants and more. It’s a must see for locals and tourists alike.

We were certainly enamored by the architecture and unique history. What a great revamp! We indulged at Palette Tea House and the dimsum did not disappoint.

Tips
This is quite a popular location and there was a line for the restaurant even before it opened. There are other eateries of course, but keep in mind it can get busy here during peak hours.
